Searching & Navigating

Quick Start » Searching & Navigating

AffinityLive can store lots of data - from contact details to project details & lots more. This tutorial shows you how to find what you need.

AffinityLive is a comprehensive product. Read on to learn a few tips for finding what you want, fast!

Use multiple browser windows (or tabs)

If you're adding some notes against a client task and another client calls you, you don't have to cancel your current screen in order to handle the new client call. Simply open AffinityLive in another browser window. To do that simply click on the AffinityLive logo.

Click the AffinityLive logo from the top left to open AffinityLive in another browser tab.

Use Global Search

This search box at the top right corner of AffinityLive is great for quickly finding records that match a keyword. You can even go directly to a record if you know the record number - just use the hash (#) symbol in front of the number. For efficiency and to ensure relevancy, you have to filter your search by the type of record you are looking for.

If your search only matches 1 record, you will be taken directly to view that record. If there are 2 or more results, they will be displayed in the main AffinityLive window.

Tip: To take the cursor straight to the search box, try Alt. + Forwardslash on your keyboard in Chrome or IE. Firefox requires Alt + Shift + Forwardslash.

Primary Navigation

Mouse-over an item in the navigation bar to:

  • Add a new record - such as a company, prospect, job or issue
  • Access your saved searches (filters) for each module.
  • Find recently viewed records
  • Use special features for a specific module - eg Issue > Invoice

Click your username and then "Admin" to view administrative options for AffinityLive.

Email Links

If a colleague logs a file note against a record you are working with, you will receive an email notification with the content of their notes. Importantly, this email will tell you the time spent on that note, and provide a reference to the client or activity which includes hyperlinks, allowing you to easily click-thru to see the record in AffinityLive.
