Welcome to AffinityLive! This short tutorial will cover new user essentials, like logging in, how to get help and also includes a video tour!

Welcome to AffinityLive

Thanks for becoming a new user of AffinityLive - we really hope you like what you see!

We've worked hard on AffinityLive to give you a tool that we hope hope can support all of the work you and your staff do for your clients - from the sales, through to project management, job tracking, timesheets, client service, and into billing, all in one, easy to use, integrated product.

Our team is always working hard to make AffinityLive better, so if you've got any feedback or suggestions on how we can improve it, we'd love to hear about it and give other the chance to contribute too. Simply visit ideas.affinitylive.com to submit your ideas!

Logging In

There are two ways to log into AffinityLive - you can either log in directly with your own username and password, or if you're using Google Apps and have connected AffinityLive to your Apps domain through the Google Apps Marketplace, you can take advantage of Single Sign On so you don't have to remember another username and password!

Note about web browsers

AffinityLive is compatible with Mozilla Firefox 6 and later, Google Chrome 5.0 and later, Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and later and Safari 4 and later and all HTML5 tablets & smartphone devices. If your preferred browser isn't in the list above, you're still welcome to give it a shot - we just can't promise that it will look superb!

In Frebuary 2012 AffinityLive updated to version 2.0. Along with this update came a radical new way of navigating with hundreds of new features. One of these features is the ability to run on HTML5 specific browsers (resolution 1024 x 768). If you have a tablet, bookmark your Dashbard, and give it a go!

 1. Normal Login

The default way to log into AffinityLive is via a username and password combination.

To log in, go to your deployment, with an address like https://sample.affinitylive.com (where "sample" is the company domain name which was chosen when creating your AffinityLive deployment). The link will be in your welcome/signup email.

If you haven't logged in yet, you'll see a login box like the one below.

Login via Google Apps

If you don't know your username or password, you can click on "Lost Your Password", and you'll be able to enter your email address. If the system doesn't recognise your email address, and you don't know your username, you should check with the person in your company who set up the AffinityLive deployment (they'll be the administrator, and can create users), and if you're an administrator and you've forgotten your own details, contact our help team.

 2. Google Apps Single Sign On (SSO)

If your AffinityLive deployment is linked to your Google Apps account, the login screen will look more like the one below.

Simply click on the big dark blue "Login with Google Apps" button, and after Google Apps checks you are already logged in with them (and prompting you to login again if you've timed out), you'll then be directed back to your AffinityLive deployment automatically.

Login via Google Apps

Using Single Sign On via Google Apps means that instead of having to remember yet another username and password, you can securely log into AffinityLive by logging into your Google Apps account first.

Logging in from the Google Apps Universal Nav

An advantage of linking to Google Apps is that AffinityLive will also be assessible via the "more" link from the top left corner of your Google Apps page: as shown in the image on the right. You'll then be transported directly to AffinityLive, without the need to enter any username or password details again!

NB: If you've just signed up for AffinityLive, it may take a few hours for Google to include the AffinityLive link in your "more" area.

Logging in for the first time

When you or your users sign in for the first time, they'll be presented with a details screen, which will allow them to confirm some information about themselves. Some details may be pre-filled from your Google Apps profile, such as name and email address.

After confirming your details, click "Save & Login". Please note that these details will form part of your email signature for any emails sent from AffinityLive - so it is important that they are accurate.

It is also worth noting that the features you can access in AffinityLive may be limited by your Administrator or default access controls. Please contact your AffinityLive Administrator for access to the modules/features you need.
